The Research Centre at 5/F is a vital part of the M+ Museum that offers a way for scholars and researchers to access the collections on-site. It houses the archives and library collections of M+, including the M+ Reference Library, the M+ Library Special Collection, the M+ Collection Archives, and the M+ Institutional Archive.
A tour will be highlighting selected items in the centre, and providing an overview of typical topics and subjects about the collections and services of the centre.
Thereafter, participants can proceed to the Main Hall Gallery to visit free exhibition "Hong Kong: here and beyond" (No guided tour). For other galleries, admission fees apply, including such as such as "Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now", "M+ Sigg Collection: From Revolution to Globalisation" or M+ Cinema programmes. Please note that the galleries will be closed at 6:00 pm.

The Speakers
In 2022, CM YIP, RASHK Honorary Archivist; Collection Archivist, M+ Archives and Library team joined M+ and assumed responsibility for managing approximately 80 arts archives as well as overseeing the M+ Research Centre. Before joining M+, he served as an archivist for both the Hong Kong Jockey Club Archive and Manulife Hong Kong Archive, where CM gained experience in managing and preserving business heritage. In addition, CM has a personal interest in local history and culture, as well as advocating for preservation of the city's heritage.
The M+ Archives and Library team comprises professionals with expertise in reference services, institutional archives, library, and collection archives. The team plays a crucial role in managing various collections and providing support for the museum's operations, exhibitions, publications, and programs. Additionally, the squad operates a Research Centre that provides access to collections for researchers, scholars, students, and the public. This team is unique in that they take care of both collections and visitors, while also promoting research and the use of collections. To achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, the team collaborates with other professionals such as art historians, conservators, photographers, curators, programmers, copyright managers, registrars, designers, and others to develop potential solutions for presenting the collections.
